I made a last minute trip to Texas to see my family, by the urging of my husband. Have I mentioned he is amazing. I would be lost without him. My Mother in law helped with my kids for a week while I was gone from my Husband and my littles. She is amazing also and I guess we know where my Husband gets it from.

Big thanks to my brother Stephen and my sis in law Liz for being my uber, hotel, babysitter and fishing guide. I flew in to surprise my son already vacationing in Texas and my Dad who had no idea I was joining them.

The setting Rockport, Texas. If you aren't familiar with this town, it was all over the news last year when Hurricane Harvey hit. Well this town is close to my heart. My brothers and I grew up fishing there with our parents. Changed so much by a natural disaster leveling many businesses and homes, yet so much still remained as I remembered it. Mom's Bait Shop, the trees that bend one way because of the costal winds (Always my favorite at Sunset). The lagoon near Rockport Beach Park where my oldest son threw his fishing rod in the water when he thought a fish was going to take him in. It is different to vacation where you used to go as a kid with not a care in the world. Vacationing here as an adult I tried to put the worries aside to soak up the moments. The moments are what matter.

My brother Paul and my son David.

My brothers both work for the San Antonio Fire Dept. very proud of them and what they have accomplished.

This rental house was awesome. Right out of a Pottery Barn Mag. 8 built in bunks where my niece and son slept/lounged. The swing was everyones favorite!

My step-mom Linda and my sis-in-law Liz, and her shadow PJ.

Silhouette of my dad getting ready to fish off the dock.

Random but I was drawn to them.

I just loved the colors of this abandoned boat & wildflowers.

Inside joke but the theme of this boat outing was "your on top of me"

I will show him this pic and always remind him how much he used to wear my old running shirt from 1999. The fact that I still have a shirt that old boggles my mind. He wears it for the same reason why I kept it all these years. It is comfy. Aunt Liz was the only one that noticed the date on the shirt. OH the miles I have ran!

iPhone pic, we needed the teens' assistance with the selfie timer.

Lots of hard work and searching for the right one. My brother bought a fishing boat. I am now very tan and my face freckles have surfaced like they did when I was a kid!
