The beauty of a big city, the art and history that surrounds you. I could have roamed the streets for hours. I lived North of Chicago when I was in college. When I lived there I remember doing the Aids walk with my Sister in law Lisa and my Brother Paul. We Went to Cubs games, Outings with Friends. I even had an assignment at The John Hancock to take photos of Mancow for my college paper. My time in Illinois flew by me and I didn't appreciate all that surrounded me. I didn't even have a cell phone to look down at.

My husband who grew up North of the city, admitted his family didn't frequent the city to sight see either. He hadn't even been to the Willis Tower aka "Sears Tower." and we still did not make it up the tower on this trip. Thanks to advisory that there was zero visibility.

Cheezborger, Cheezborger, Cheezborger, Coke No Pepsi. Chips no Fries anyone? We almost walked right passed this subterranean location. The Borgers were really good and we escaped the rain for bit! The journalist wall of fame at the bar had my mind wondering who once sat in my seat writing and drinking. The old photos oh how I love old photos, especially when one of people featured in most of those photos was still in the kitchen working. The stories he must have.

Three of my favorite buildings sit on this Magnificent mile. The Wrigley building, The Chicago Tribune, and the Historic Water Tower.

K-9s for Cops public art installation. For my Ivy.

The glass building in the far left of his frame is an Apple Store. We took an architectural boat tour. Get on the boat, trust me it worth it.

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? If you know me really well, you probably know I sometimes talk in movie quotes. Fun movie fact. This was featured in Ferris Bueller's Day off as "Ferris' Dad's office." as the boat tour guide described it. The green glass on this curved building was designed to blend in with the green river. 333 West Wacker. postmodern era. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates

This incredible child free trip was simple, relaxing, and unforgettable. We ate unbelievable food, leisurely went about our way, went to Sluggers where it's always a good time, umm and yeah we saw Pearl Jam at The Friendly Confines that is Wrigley. First night was picture perfect weather, Rained on the 2nd day we went and we stood under Wrigley for a good 1hr and 1/2. My feet were soaked and I still wouldn't have imagined wanting to be anywhere else at that moment. I had my husband, beer and no kids.
